People Operations Manager

Lancashire

£35,000 to £40,000 Basic Salary

 

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends

 

HPL are recruiting for an experienced People Operations Manager to join a busy hospitality and leisure business in Lancashire.

 

This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who wants to be more commercially involved and have a genuine impact on the wider business.

 

You’ll work closely with managers across the business, supporting everything from recruitment and employee relations through to performance, workforce planning and learning and development.

 

The role

• Lead day to day People Operations across the business

• Work closely with managers to improve productivity, staffing and labour efficiency

• Use people data and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities

• Coach and develop managers to improve leadership capability

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and performance

• Support workforce and succession planning

• Improve employee engagement and retention

• Lead people focused improvement and change projects

• Ensure employment practices remain legally compliant

 

What we’re looking for

• Strong generalist HR or People experience at HR Manager, People Manager, HR Business Partner or similar level

• Good knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations

• Experience working closely with operational managers

• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of labour costs and productivity

• Experience using people data and KPIs

• Confident coaching and challenging managers

• A practical, hands on approach

• CIPD Level 5 or above would be desirable

• Hospitality, leisure, tourism, retail or another operational environment would be advantageous
