About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a busy bar located in a beautiful hotel.

 

You’ll lead the bar team, maintain high standards of service, manage stock and costs, and make sure every customer receives an excellent experience.

 

This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and knows how to motivate a team while delivering strong commercial results.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the bar.
• Lead, motivate and develop the bar team.
• Deliver consistently high standards of customer service.
• Manage staff rotas, breaks and daily staffing levels.
• Recruit, train and onboard new team members.
• Monitor and control stock levels, ordering and deliveries.
• Carry out regular stock checks and minimise waste and discrepancies.
• Manage beverage costs and work towards agreed GP targets.
• Ensure all licensing, health & safety and company procedures are followed.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation.
• Handle customer queries and resolve complaints professionally.
• Drive sales through promotions, upselling and excellent service.
• Monitor daily sales and performance against targets.
• Work closely with the wider management team to deliver the overall operation.
• Support events, functions and busy trading periods when required.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• An experienced Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager, Supervisor or similar.
• Confident leading and motivating a team.
• Passionate about hospitality and delivering great customer service.
• Commercially aware with an understanding of sales, GP and stock control.
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident dealing with customers and resolving issues.
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• A hands-on manager who is happy to lead from the front.

A personal licence and relevant licensing knowledge would be advantageous.
