About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Golf Club Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and overall performance of the club.
You'll oversee the member and guest experience, lead the club team and ensure the golf course, clubhouse and wider facilities operate to the highest standards.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands the golf industry, enjoys working with people and can balance exceptional service with strong commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the golf club.
- Lead, motivate and develop the wider club team.
- Deliver an outstanding experience for members, guests and visitors.
- Manage membership enquiries, renewals and retention.
- Develop strategies to attract new members and increase club revenue.
- Monitor membership numbers, income, budgets and key performance indicators.
- Oversee clubhouse operations including bar, restaurant, events and functions.
- Work closely with the Head Professional and greenkeeping team to maintain high standards across the club.
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, recruitment and training.
- Build strong relationships with members, guests, suppliers and local businesses.
- Organise and support competitions, tournaments, society days and club events.
- Handle member feedback, complaints and day-to-day issues professionally.
- Ensure health & safety, licensing and club policies are adhered to.
- Manage budgets, purchasing, stock control and operational costs.
- Identify opportunities to increase secondary spend across the clubhouse and wider facilities.
- Work with the committee, owners or senior management team to deliver the club's strategy.
- Ensure the clubhouse and facilities are presented to a consistently high standard.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- An experienced Golf Club Manager, Club Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager or similar.
- Passionate about golf and the member experience.
- A confident leader who can motivate and develop a team.
- Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and revenue.
- Excellent at building relationships with members and stakeholders.
- Organised and able to manage multiple areas of a busy operation.
- Confident dealing with difficult situations and resolving member concerns.
- Proactive, hands-on and willing to lead from the front.
- Professional, approachable and customer-focused.
Previous experience within a golf club, golf resort, country club, hotel or wider leisure environment would be highly advantageous.
