How to know if a job offer is the right fit for you
After the interviews, the waiting, and the nerves, the job offer finally lands in your inbox. Congratulations! But before you reply with a yes, it’s worth taking a moment to pause and ask yourself a few things.
Is this the right move for me, or just the next one?
At HPL Recruitment, we speak to people across the holiday park and leisure sector every day, and one thing we’ve experienced, time and time again is that the right role is about fit, growth, and long-term happiness in what you do, not necessarily about pay or location.

Here are a 5 things to check before you say yes and accept that job offer.
1. Will this role help you grow season after season?
Progression looks different for everyone. Maybe it’s stepping up into management, gaining new qualifications, or simply finding a park where you can return each year with confidence. If the role offers room for you to develop and learn and grow, that’s a strong sign it could be a good role for you.
2. Does the culture feel right?
You’ll spend most of your week with your team, so ask yourself:
Did the interview feel natural?
Do they communicate clearly and treat people with respect?
Can you picture yourself enjoying day-to-day life there? Trust those instincts because they’re often the best indicator of fit.
3. Is the balance right for your lifestyle?
Holiday park roles often mean living on site or working flexible hours. Before saying yes, think about what balance looks like for you. Accommodation, travel time, family life, or even how far you’ll be from home during the season. A great job should fit around your life, not take it over.
4. Are the expectations clear?
Ask questions. What does success look like in the first few months? Who will you report to?What support or training will be available? Clarity up front means fewer surprises later and a smoother start.
5. Do your values align?
The parks that truly thrive are the ones where people care - about guests, owners, and each other. If a company’s values match your own, you’ll feel that connection every day you work there.
The right yes lasts longer
It’s easy to say yes to a job offer quickly, especially if you’re eager to start somewhere new, but the best career decisions come from patience and perspective.
At HPL, we focus on helping you find roles where you can grow, return, and thrive, year after year. When it’s the right fit, saying yes feels easy.
Looking for your next step in the holiday park or leisure industry? We’d love to help.
